Chiang Mai University Smart Agrivoltaics Pilot, Thailand

In October 2025 KLES and ENVELOPS signed an agrivoltaics research MoU with Chiang Mai University’s Faculty of Agriculture and its Energy Research and Development Institute (ERDI), and in August 2026 the parties exchanged a letter of intent to build a 25 kW smart agrivoltaic pilot plant under Korea South-East Power’s 2026 Global Testbed Support Program. ENVELOPS provides the crop- and site-optimised concept design and SAMS and builds the plant together with KLES. Crop beds sit beneath an elevated panel structure, where cabbage, coffee, vanilla and other local crops will be trialled, with generation, environmental and agricultural data collected and analysed through SAMS. Construction is under way, with completion expected in December 2026.
